Free Peace Awake NY Meditation Club (FPANYMC) was born out of a conversation between Kenji Summers and Angelo Baque about the relentless pace of New York City and the need for a space where New Yorkers could slow down without feeling like they were falling behind. During that conversation, Kenji pointed out a powerful synchronicity—World Meditation Day and Biggie Smalls’ birthday fall on the same day. That realization sparked an idea: what if New Yorkers had a place to meditate together, right in the city that never sleeps? That question led to the first-ever meditation session at Awake NY, laying the foundation for what would become a monthly ritual of mindfulness, music, and community.
Now, every third Saturday at Awake NY (62 Orchard St), FPANYMC creates space for wisdom, breathwork, and deep listening sessions, featuring a different New York artist each month—a way to honor the city’s creative lineage while cultivating inner peace. The soundscape is intentional, blending the music of New York artists across rap, R&B, jazz, and more, creating an atmosphere that grounds, expands, and deepens the meditative experience.
FPANYMC isn’t just about meditation—it’s about working in so we can get the creative work out. It’s about balance to the city’s nonstop grind, a reminder that stepping back doesn’t mean falling off. In a place where everyone is chasing something, this space reminds New Yorkers that peace isn’t just something to find—it’s something to remember.

Thank you for sitting with us for the October Free Peace Awake NY Meditation Club. You gave Radamiz’s LIGHTMAN the one thing this world keeps trying to take from all of us — honest attention. That room held a kind of New York care you can’t fake. The breathwork, the deep listening, the way people stayed with the music even when it pressed on the bruised parts of the psyche, that is the culture we’re protecting.
This month’s Free Peace x Big Enough Home × Awake NY capsule is now available at Awake NY, 62 Orchard Street, and online at bigenoughhome.com while supplies last. These pieces aren’t hype items. They’re reminders — small artifacts from a morning where strangers became a little less estranged from themselves.
Thank you for choosing presence in a city that rewards distraction.

Thank you for joining us for Free Peace and Awake NY’s one-year anniversary of our Meditation Club on World Meditation Day. Our limited edition tee is now SOLD OUT at Awake NY (62 Orchard St) and online. Gratitude to everyone that supported us in making peace free.
